MILWAUKEE'S MAKES TOP 20 FOR BLOOMBERG CHALLENGE:

Milwaukee is one of 20 cities named a finalist in the "The Mayor's Challenge," a national grant competition sponsored by the Bloomberg Foundation challenging cities to address serious urban problems with innovative ideas. Mayor Barrett's HOME GR/OWN plan incorporates foreclosed properties, urban farming, and entrepreneurial spirit to revitalize neighborhoods and improve public health.  Milwaukee will compete for the $5 million first prize and $1 million each for four runners up.  The five winners will be revealed sometime in spring 2013.
